February
: Air Littoral flights suspended and company wound up
The Courts of Montpellier announced the liquidation of Air Littoral
on 17 February 2004, winding up the leading regional airline
in France and its hub in Nice.
1 to 18 March : Renovation of the South Runway
A project that called for interaction between all players at
the airport.
On the agenda : relaying 84,000m2 of asphalt and renovating
28km of runway lighting on a runway that is 3km long and 45m
wide.

April : The new "Saleya" approach procedure put in
place
This approach procedure for Mistral conditions improves
trajectory safety and avoids flying over Nice. "Saleya"
also reduces flights over East Cannes,Vallauris and downtown
Antibes by 25%, enhancing the quality of life of some 24,000
of the region's residents.
6 and 7 May Computaport Trade Fair in Cannes
Devoted to IT applications for the airport industry, Computaport
examines cuttingedge advances such as wi-fi and biometry, for
which Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is a driving force.The
event takes place every 4 years and is organised by the French
Riviera Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Airport
Council International.

created in 1991, promotes cooperation between its members
(535 airport authorities representingover 1,400 airports
in 168 countries) and other partners in aviation (air transport
companies, aircraft manufacturers, etc). |
28 May : Official launch of "Plaisir
de Partir"
On 28 May, "Plaisir de Partir" was unveiled to the
general public - the project had already been presented to tourism
professionals.The www.plaisirdepartir.com website went on line,
and a lucky draw was organised by Nice Côte d'Azur Airport
and its tour operator and travel agency partners.
Over 250 people gathered at Terminal 2 to discover "Plaisir
de Partir" and win trips to Canada, the Balearics or Marrakech,
and to surf travel offers departing from Nice.
From 9 to 11 June : ACI Europe in Nice
"Nice 2004:Tomorrow's Airports" attracted over 450
delegates to Nice Acropolis for 3 days.The 14th Annual ACI Europe
Assembly organised by Nice Côte d'Azur Airport offered
participants several conferences on 4 main themes: the privatisation
of Europe's airports; expanding airports within environmental
regulations; the scope of sales and marketing strategies; and
new client expectations.
| ACI Europe comprises 450 airports in
45 countries.They represent 90% of commercial flights
in Europe, over 1 billion passengers, and 16,5 million flights. |
21 to 24 June
ISO 14001 audit
For one week, a company of external auditors validated the environment
management system implemented by teams at Nice Côte d'Azur
Airport. ISO 14001 certification was granted for the design,
running and maintenance of infrastructures and services at Nice
Côte d'Azur Airport, with
0 nonconformities.

October "Cap
Ferrat" Lounge and new aquarium opened in Terminal 2
The Cap Ferrat lounge located in the eastern part of the
terminal offers a privileged area for passengers in possession
of an entrance voucher. It was inaugurated on the same day as
a new meeting point for passengers: an aquarium shaped like
Terminal 2.The range of services at the New Terminal 2 is thus
complete.
Airport Company
Devised back in 1955, the present system for managing French
regional airports is no longer adapted to today's air transport
industry.The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce acted ahead
of the need for change in 2004, before the end of its concession,
by playing a major role in the Action Committee to Introduce
Airport Companies.
The legislative framework was introduced during 2004:
29 September 2004: approval by Council of Ministers
9 November 2004: adopted by Senate
March 2005: first reading before the National Assembly
on the 9th and 10th, second reading at end March
21 April 2005: final approval. |

Environment Round Table
The theme of this year's annual event was "Resident and
Citizen; proximity to a facility for the general good".
Speakers debated issues such as the environmental impact of
a public facility, the need for constructive dialogue, and ways
of measuring the results of cooperation.
December : Internet
Connection Stations
Two high-speed, wireless, Internet Connection Stations were
unveiled in Terminal 2. Stylish in design, they enable passengers
to connect inthe boarding and check-in zones.
