From June 15 and for 3 months, the capital of the United Arab Emirates will be connected to Nice, thanks to Etihad Airways opening a second route to France. Operating out of Abu Dhabi, Etihad offers a wide range of connections around the world and an important gateway for the Côte d'Azur.
With two flights per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, Etihad is strengthening the connection between the Gulf countries and the Côte d'Azur with a fuel-efficient Dreamliner B787-9. The flights offer 28 seats in Business and 262 in Economy. On the way, the plane will make a stop in Rome before landing in Nice at 9:55 a.m. On the return, the flight is direct and will leave at 11:25 a.m. for a landing at 7:35 p.m.
With the arrival of Etihad, a fourth route to the Gulf countries is opening up, after Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain. These links represent an even better connection to the region, particularly to the Middle East and even further afield to key tourism and business destinations in Asia and Oceania.
"This new route, operated with a modern aircraft, symbolizes our strategy, which is to reconcile the development of our network, the improvement of our long-haul connectivity for the benefit of the dynamism of our territory, with our desire to seek the best environmental efficiency through use of the most modern and less emissive aircraft", says Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Airports of the Côte d'Azur.
“Etihad is pleased to strengthen air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and France with the establishment of our summer service to Nice. Côte d'Azur is the perfect holiday destination, and we are confident it will appeal to leisure holidaymakers in the UAE. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming travellers from France on board our B787 Dreamliners to experience our award-winning product, service and warm Emirati hospitality,” says Martin Drew, Senior Vice President Global Sales and Cargo at Etihad Airways.
