Nice Côte d’Azur is ready for the upsurge in air travel, with over 90 destinations in 37 countries on offer this summer

Air travel is poised to take off again this summer, with a flight schedule including 11 new routes and 2 new destinations, Menorca and Southampton, and - provided borders are open again - the return of the first long-haul flights to New York and Dubai. This upsurge underscores the attractiveness and vitality of the French Riviera, and confirms the health safety strategy put in place by the airport to create the reassuring conditions which airlines and their passengers expect.
With more than 1,000 flights planned per week at the height of the season, compared with 1,400 in summer 2019, the French Riviera is set to re-establish air links to a whole host of holiday and business destinations this summer. France, which expects to see a renewed interest in air travel this year as the health situation eases, accounts for no less than 18 destinations. There are even four new routes on offer: Brest and Nantes, with Transavia, Lille with Volotea and La Rochelle with easyJet. In addition, 66 European destinations are scheduled, and here again, new routes are set to open (Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, with Wizz Air, London Heathrow with Air France, Prague with Smartwings) along with 2 new destinations (Menorca with easyJet, and Southampton with British Airways).
Looking further afield, Nice Côte d’Azur has upped its offer to 12 destinations in 7 countries. In addition to North African countries, which will be accessible via Air France flights to Algiers and Tunis, Israel and Turkey will be available for booking, along with more faraway places such as Dubai, with Emirates, New York JFK, with Delta Airlines, and Newark with La Compagnie. However, these destinations remain subject to changes in travel restrictions to and from the countries in question.

Along with our staff and partners, we will attach great importance to ensuring we are deserving of that confidence, and carry out our responsibility to protect the health of travellers and residents of the French Riviera by strictly applying the measures determined by the Authorities,” reiterated Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.
