Nice Côte d’Azur speeds up the resumption of traffic with 79 destinations, of which 62 are international, and will open up the whole of terminal 2 in July.
France’s second-largest airport platform is continuing its resumption of air traffic in July, with a schedule connecting the French Riviera to the whole of France and major cities in Europe, North Africa and Israel. This ramp-up, which started at the end of the lockdown, is due to continue in August, with the complete reopening of terminal 2, where all the flights will be handled.
Day after day, the French Riviera is continuing to reconnect with the rest of the world, with a much busier schedule of flights in July than in June. As a driving force behind the local economy and the main gateway to the region, activity at the airport is continuing to gather pace with the announcement of a network of 17 destinations in France and 62 abroad.
The reopening of destinations that were previously suspended is a sure sign that the recovery is under way. For example, Volotea is opening two new lines - one to Caen and the other to Brest - at the start of July, completing a dense national network that stretches north, south, east and west.
International activity is resuming at an even greater pace, rising from nine destinations in June to 62. All the economic, political and financial capitals will once again be directly connected to Nice, and the leisure destinations will be accessible to the entire southern region.
“This flight schedule enables Nice Côte d’Azur to once again contribute to the economic vitality of the region and will allow the population of southern France, tourists, business travellers and leisure-seekers to return to Nice. The renewed trust of the airlines and their ambition to operate direct international services demonstrate the appeal of the platform and our capacity to take all the precautionary measures required to restore the peace of mind that passengers and crew members are entitled to expect from France’s number two airport”, claims Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.
Nice Côte d’Azur airport will open terminal T2.1 on 1 July in order to gradually absorb the increase in traffic and to offer flyers the best possible welcome. Consequently, all the airlines flying to and from Nice will use terminal 2.
