Nice Côte d’Azur, an increasingly international airport thanks to an even longer list of winter destinations

Nice Côte d’Azur airport has unveiled its winter 2018 – 2019 destination programme. The number of destinations is on the rise, and international flights are particularly well represented, with 30 countries served by 39 scheduled airlines.

Building on an already record winter season last year, Nice Côte d’Azur airport is boosting its offer even further this year. The new list includes 71 destinations - 3 more than in 2017 - and boasts 12 new features: 8 new destinations (Athens, Metz-Nancy, Porto, Riga, Seville, Sofia, Stuttgart and Tenerife) and 4 reinforced routes (Bucharest, Luxembourg, Tel Aviv and Vienna).

Thanks to this comprehensive flight offer, Nice Côte d’Azur, which is on course to handle 14 million passengers in total this year, is now directly connected to 30 countries compared with 29 last year.

Nice Côte d’Azur airport will also welcome 2 new airlines over this period: Aegean Airlines, providing flights to Athens, and Air Baltic, which adds Riga to the list of new winter destinations.

The airport has announced 848 frequencies in total, a 6.3% increase compared with last year. The sharpest increases concern North-African (+14.3% more frequencies) and Middle-Eastern destinations (+9.5%).

“Our ever-increasing list of winter destinations and the rising proportion of international routes are the tangible result of our efforts to reduce seasonal variations in air traffic. Our local passengers now have an even wider variety of destinations to choose from, while this extended offer actively contributes to enhancing our region’s appeal,” enthused Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board for Côte d’Azur Airports.
