Côte d'Azur Airports has achieved all its objectives for 2025

Published on 12-01-26

With record traffic, the Group ended 2025 by successfully balancing its objectives in terms of operational performance, developing the region's appeal, and protecting the environment.

In 2025, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport handled 15.23 million commercial passengers, an increase of 3.2% compared to 2024. This growth resulted in a smaller increase of 1.9% in the number of commercial aircraft movements, which totalled 163,052, confirming the impact of filling higher-capacity aircraft with more passengers.

This performance reflects the attractiveness of a region whose economic and international reputation is driving airport traffic, despite being isolated from the rest of France.

International traffic increased by 4.7% in one year, while domestic traffic declined slightly (-0.3%).

Regular long-haul passenger traffic grew by 5.8% in 2025, thanks in particular to the opening of a new route to Washington in the summer and another to Dakar in the winter of 2024/2025.

In terms of business aviation, Nice Côte d'Azur, Cannes Mandelieu, and Golfe de Saint-Tropez airports saw a 4% increase in aircraft movements.

An extension nearing completion

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport has managed to handle record passenger traffic while completing a major project, the extension of its Terminal 2. In spring 2025, the first phase was delivered, with a brand new, enlarged passport control area for departures, an enlarged and refurbished non-Schengen departure lounge, a new shop, two new restaurants, and a renovated VIP lounge. By the 2026 peak season, the pier and its six new departure/arrival lounges, as well as the new check-in hall and its baggage handling system for both arrivals and departures, will also be operational.

To give passengers a new perspective on the airport, a monumental work by Nice artist César Malfi has been created on a hangar adjacent to this extension. Depicting Psyche flying away in the arms of Love, it welcomes travellers and invites them to enjoy a moment of peace and serenity.

Continuous improvement in environmental performance

As part of its environmental policy, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur has continued its decarbonisation efforts in line with the commitments it made in 2020. As a result, Nice Airport has become the first French airport in its category to obtain Level 5 Airport Carbon Accreditation, the highest and most demanding level. Five years ahead of its commitment to achieve net zero emissions, the airport has joined the exclusive club of 4% of airports worldwide that are committed to this programme and have achieved its highest level of requirements. This accreditation confirms that the airport has not only reduced emissions under its control by at least 90% but has also drawn up and implemented a roadmap for decarbonising its entire value chain, including emissions from aircraft in half-cruise.

This was not the only distinction obtained in 2025. The group was awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, which was only conferred on two airports worldwide last year. Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur is thus ranked in the top 5% of the 150,000 companies audited worldwide by EcoVadis and in the top 1% of companies in the same sector. The detailed assessment covers non-financial performance in four areas: the environment (>8 points compared to 2024), social issues (>10 points), ethics (>12 points), and responsible purchasing (>17 points).
