What awaits at the PIPO at the airport?

In Nice, generation upon generation have indulged in socca, a chickpea-based galette baked golden in the oven. Listed as part of Nice's culinary heritage, it’s more than a dish: Socca is a veritable tradition to be shared with family or friends. A simple and convivial dish, you can now eat it with your hands (after adding a little pepper!) at Chez Pipo at Nice Airport. Ask for a stuffed socca - you won’t be disappointed.

Terminal 1 is home to this don’t-miss restaurant that’s 100% Nice, where you can sample pizzas, pissaladières, spreads, sweet Swiss chard pies, salads, and pasta. Order a small glass of Rosé wine or an artisanal beer from Nice to accompany your meal and you’ll be plunged right back into your memories of wandering Old Nice.
You’ll find a full offering of take-away at Chez Pipo in Terminal 1 of Nice Airport, from sandwiches to pan bagnat.

The Pipo Socca at Nice Airport

The notoriety of this restaurant is owed to its founder “Pipo” who began making this the hottest place to eat in Nice way back in 1923. Today, this baked galette is well-loved by tourists from around the world as well. These days, the socca by “Chez Pipo” is no longer only to be found at Nice's only port, where the institution began, a place steeped in history that has survived the ages while holding onto its authenticity and simplicity.

“For nearly 100 years, locals and travellers have come to taste the original socca at our location in Nice. We're thrilled to continue to share this part of our heritage with the rest of the world at Nice Cote d’Azur Airport today,” said Steeve Bernardo.
