Fly from Nice to Billund

• Relive your childhood through your own kids’ eyes at LEGOLAND Billund. The theme park offers some fifty different attractions: a pirate battle, a submarine adventure, a visit to a miniature world, roller coasters, and much more!
• Continue your immersion in the Lego universe at LEGO House. At this museum, you’ll see the Masterpiece Gallery and the Tree of Creativity, a sculpture made from over six million bricks. But it’s also a hands-on play space: four distinct zones offer the opportunity to star in a Lego film, build a racing car, or create anything you can possibly imagine.
• Set off on an adventure at WOW Park, an outdoor playground in the heart of nature. Cross the forest on suspension bridges more than ten metres above the ground. Crawl through underground tunnels. Hold on tight as you fly down the zip line. Find your way out of the giant maze. Make friends with the resident goats. Feel the thrill on Lightning, Scandinavia’s most breathtaking slide, featuring a 20-metre free fall!
• Cycle along dedicated bike paths or forest trails, paddle a canoe, fish in a lake, enjoy a family game of mini-golf, or simply stroll through some of the region’s many parks and green spaces. Billund is for nature lovers.
• Dive in at Lalandia, Scandinavia’s largest water park. Here, you can tube down an artificial river and discover thrilling water slides, a wave pool, jacuzzi, and heated thermal pools.
• Explore the world of past and present wildlife at Zootopia, the Givskud Zoo. Just a 45-minute drive from Billund, this is one of Denmark’s most spectacular amusement parks. It combines a zoo, a safari park – where a six-kilometre circuit offers up-close encounters with wolves, lions, giraffes, gorillas, and rhinoceroses – and a dinosaur park with some fifty faithful reproductions of creatures from the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods.
• Step back in time when you visit the monuments at Jelling, a site celebrating the Vikings’ legacy in Denmark. Here, the runestone marking the birth of the unified Danish kingdom and its entry into the Christian world has been preserved since the year 960. There is also a stone engraved at the request of the king of the time: Harald Bluetooth – Harald Blåtand in Danish. Yes, the famous wireless connection owes its name to him!
• Don’t miss a trip to Vejle, the most populous municipality in the area. Nestled at the head of a great fjord, the city of 60,000 offers delightful seaside walks and a few gems of modern architecture, including the Wave, a striking wave-shaped apartment complex; and Fjordenhus, a buildling of astonishing design perched on the harbour.
• Head to Fredericia Harbour and set sail to meet the porpoises of Naturpark Lillebælt, Denmark’s largest marine park. Never heard of porpoises? These distant relatives of dolphins are small, adorable whales.
• You can reach Christiansfeld, one of the Jutland Peninsula’s most picturesque towns, by bus or car. Founded in 1772, it was long the stronghold of the Moravian Brothers, a religious community following the teachings of Jan Hus, a Czech reformer of the late Middle Ages.
